How to Get a Job in Dubai From India: Visas, Scams, Who to Email
In the UAE the employer gets your MOHRE work permit and visa and pays the costs. Your job: email the Dubai hiring manager from India, and never pay an agent a fee.
Most advice on how to get a job in Dubai from India starts with the visa. That is the wrong end. You cannot apply for a UAE work visa on your own: a Dubai employer applies for it after they decide to hire you. So the whole game is getting one hiring manager in Dubai to want you while you are still in India. This guide covers the visa facts you need (checked on the UAE government's own sites in 2026), the agent scams to walk away from, and how to reach the person who actually hires.
One rule before we start. UAE visa rules change often. Check u.ae, MOHRE (mohre.gov.ae) and ICP (icp.gov.ae) before you act on anything here, including this page.
Who actually gets you a UAE work visa?
Your employer does. The UAE government portal is blunt about it: "The employer must apply for the standard work visa," which is valid for two years and renewable (u.ae, Work visa page, 2026). The work permit itself comes from the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE), and u.ae states that it is illegal for a person to work in the UAE without a valid MOHRE work permit (u.ae, Work permits page, October 2026). The application is filed by someone legally authorised to represent the company, not by you.
Who pays matters even more. The UAE's labour rights page says the costs of recruitment and travel, and the expenses of getting your residency permit, are borne by the employer, and that "charging recruitment fees to prospective employees is illegal in the UAE" (u.ae, Protection of workers' rights, October 2026). The rule comes from Article 6 of Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021, the UAE labour law. For scale, MOHRE's own fee for issuing a work permit runs from AED 250 to AED 3,450 depending on how the company is classified (u.ae, 2026). Under the labour law, recruiting and employing you is the company's cost to carry, not yours.
What this means for you: your job is not visa paperwork. Your job is to become a candidate worth that paperwork.
Is there a job seeker visa for Dubai?
Yes. The UAE offers a jobseeker visit visa that lets you enter the country to look for work without a host or sponsor in the UAE. It is for a single trip and comes in 60, 90 or 120 day versions (u.ae, Jobseeker visit visa page, updated September 2026). You apply through ICP, or through GDRFA for Dubai.
The conditions listed on u.ae (2026) are:
- You are in the first, second or third skill level under MOHRE's professional levels of jobs, or you graduated in the last two years from one of the world's top 500 universities (as classified by the UAE Ministry of Education).
- You hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- You meet the financial guarantee the authorities set.
- You submit a colour photo, a copy of your passport and an attested qualification certificate.
Here is the part that trips people up. A jobseeker visa lets you search. It does not let you work. The moment you take a job, the employer still has to get you a MOHRE work permit and a residence visa.
Our view: do not spend on flights, a hotel and a 90 day visa just to send the same online applications you could send from your room in Pune or Kochi. Book the trip when you already have conversations going with two or three Dubai hiring managers who want to meet you in person. Then the visa buys you interviews, not just time.
Are there Dubai jobs for Indian freshers?
Land your next role, faster.
Find and contact the right hiring managers, without the cold email guesswork.
Yes, but go in clear-eyed. A Dubai company hiring a fresher from India pays for your recruitment, your travel and your residency permit before you have done a day's work, because that is what UAE law asks of them. So they need a reason to pick you over someone who is already in the country and can start on Monday.
Give them that reason in writing. A project they can open. An internship result with a number you can prove. A portfolio link. Arabic if you have it, or another language their customers speak. A UAE job for Indians at fresher level gets a lot more winnable when the hiring manager has seen proof before they have seen your resume. A generic application gives them nothing to go on.
We are not going to repeat which sectors are hiring and what they pay. That is in our Dubai hiring report on who is hiring and what they pay. This guide is about the process.
How to get a job in Dubai from India: why applying online is the slow route
You will find plenty of Dubai listings on LinkedIn, Naukrigulf and company career pages. The problem is the pile behind each one. An average opening draws about 242 applications, and a typical online application succeeds roughly 0.1% to 2% of the time (The Interview Guys, April 2026, citing Business Insider data for the first figure). Now add your situation: you are the applicant in that pile who needs a work permit, a visa and a flight before day one. A recruiter giving your resume a first scan of six or seven seconds (Ladders eye-tracking study, 2018) will not stop to work out whether you are worth all that.
Auto-apply bots make it worse, not better. Firing hundreds of identical applications into Dubai portals from India just puts hundreds of copies of the same resume in front of people who know how to spot them. Recruiters say they catch bot applications by planting odd instructions in job posts and by noticing one person applying to dozens of roles at the same company (NBC News, November 2024). Spray and pray is a weak plan at home. From another country, it is weaker still.
The route that skips the pile is the same one that works at home: write directly to the person who runs the team you want to join.
How to apply for jobs in Dubai from India?
Apply on portals where you have to, but put most of your effort into emailing hiring managers directly. A team lead in Dubai who reads a short, specific email from you can walk over to HR and ask them to start your work permit. An HR inbox already holding hundreds of applications will not be moved by one more. Here is how to do it from India:
- Pick a short list of companies. Twenty is plenty. Choose ones whose work you can talk about in one sentence each.
- Find the hiring manager, not HR. The head of marketing, the engineering lead, the finance controller: the person whose team you would join.
- Write one email for one person. Who you are, one specific thing about their team's work, one piece of proof, and the visa line.
- Say the visa part plainly. "I am based in India and can relocate. I understand the employer sponsors the work permit." It shows you know how it works.
- Send it in their morning. Dubai is 1 hour 30 minutes behind India, so 9 am in Dubai is 10:30 am IST.
- Follow up once. One short nudge after about a week. Then move on to the next manager.
Here is a template you can adapt. Replace every bracket with something real.

Doing that properly twenty times by hand is a lot of work. We built Studojo to do exactly this: it finds the person who can actually hire you (the hiring manager or team lead, not a generic HR inbox), verifies their email address, writes a personal email for that one person based on your background and their work, and sends it from your own Gmail. You can email Dubai hiring managers from India with Studojo. Setup takes about 2 minutes (you upload your resume), the people come sourced from 20,000+ databases, and it is a one-time payment, not a subscription. So far, 8,500+ students signed up, 4,000+ matched with hiring managers and 28,000+ personal emails sent from students' own Gmail (Studojo's own records, September 2026). Replies are not guaranteed. A good email to the right person is still the fastest way we know to get a Dubai manager's attention.
How do you spot a fake Dubai job offer or a fee-charging agent?
Start with one rule: if anyone asks you to pay for a Dubai job or a UAE visa, walk away. UAE law puts recruitment, travel and residency permit costs on the employer, and u.ae says charging recruitment fees to prospective employees is illegal (2026). An agent asking you for a "visa fee", a "processing fee" or a "security deposit" is asking you to pay a cost the law gives to the employer.
Then run these checks before you resign, book a flight or send money to anyone:
- Ask for the MOHRE offer letter. u.ae says you must get an offer letter issued by MOHRE, and you can check its reference number through MOHRE's application status enquiry service (u.ae, Tips to stay safe from labour and visa fraud, September 2026).
- Check that the company exists. Search its English and Arabic names in the UAE's National Economic Register (same u.ae page).
- Check the Indian agent's registration. The Ministry of External Affairs says you can check the details of registered recruiting agents on the eMigrate portal (emigrate.gov.in), and lodge a complaint there too (MEA, FAQ for intending emigrants, 2024).
- Check your passport's ECR status. If your passport carries an Emigration Check Required (ECR) endorsement, you need emigration clearance to go to the UAE for work, because the UAE is on the MEA's list of ECR countries (MEA, 2024).
- Never start work on a visit visa. Working without a MOHRE work permit is illegal (u.ae, 2026), whatever the person promising to "sort the visa later" tells you.

What should you do this week?
Five steps, in this order:
- Read the current jobseeker visa and work visa pages on u.ae.
- Write down the one result from your degree or internship you can prove.
- List twenty Dubai companies and the team lead at each.
- Send five personal emails, timed for Dubai's morning.
- Follow up once, a week later, and keep adding names.
Weighing Singapore too? The rules there work completely differently: a salary floor, a points test and a local advertising rule. Read how to get a job in Singapore from India before you split your effort between the two.
Frequently asked questions
Can I go to Dubai on a visit visa and look for a job?
The UAE has a visa made for exactly this: the jobseeker visit visa, a single trip visa of 60, 90 or 120 days that needs no host or sponsor, if you meet its degree, skill level and financial guarantee conditions (u.ae, 2026). Whatever visa you enter on, you cannot start working until your employer gets you a MOHRE work permit.
Do I have to pay anyone to get a job in Dubai?
No. UAE law puts recruitment, travel and residency permit costs on the employer, and u.ae says charging recruitment fees to prospective employees is illegal (2026). Treat any request for money from an agent or a so-called HR contact as a red flag.
How long is a UAE work visa valid?
The standard employment visa is valid for two years and is renewable under the conditions set by the visa authorities (u.ae, 2026). Your employer applies for it and handles the renewal.
Can a fresher from India get the UAE jobseeker visa?
If you meet the conditions. u.ae (2026) lists a bachelor's degree, either a MOHRE skill level of one to three or a degree from a top 500 world university within the last two years, and a financial guarantee. Check the current version on u.ae or ICP before you apply.
Should I email HR or the hiring manager in Dubai?
The hiring manager. HR runs the process, but the team lead decides whether you are worth sponsoring. Email them directly, keep it short, and follow up once.
